CT CABARET GOES TO AVENUE Q

Posted on 11/30/-0001

Winner of the TONY® “TRIPLE CROWN” for BEST MUSICAL, BEST SCORE and BEST  BOOK,AVENUE Q  is part flesh, part felt and packed with heart.  AVENUE Q is a laugh-out-loud musical that tells the timeless story of a  recent college grad named Princeton who moves into a shabby New York  apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. There, he meets Kate (the girl  next door), Rod (the Republican), Trekkie (the internet sexpert), Lucy the Slut (need we say more?), and other colorful types who help PRINCETON finally discover his purpose in life!

RATED R for adult content.
JOHN & JEN OPENS

Posted on 11/30/-0001

There are shows that are well-known all over the world and then there are shows that deserve to be that way, but are not. JOHN & JEN should be one of those well-known shows. It's not CHICAGO or HAIRSPRAY. Nothing flashy. No dance numbers. No special effects. Just two strong performers, supported by some of the most beautiful orchestrations written and a story that can connect with your heart by the first number. Simply a piano, cello and percussion, the music haunts you, pulls you in.

Once pulled into Tom Greenwald & Andrew Lippa's story, you become engrossed in the lives of JOHN & JEN. From start to finish our opening weekend audiences were enthralled by the words, the songs, the performance and the emotion. By the end, they were on their feet.

Internet and YouTube Celebrity MICHAEL BUCKLEY of the "What the Buck Show" takes credit, along with his husband Mike, for finding this little gem of a show. He gave the CD to his friends Kris McMurray and Matthew Collin Marrero, who is now playing JOHN, about 6 years ago. "Matthew Collin was really pushing to do the show. It has since become one of his favorites. I couldn't turn him down after seeing the passion he had for it." said Artistic Director/ Owner Kris McMurray. "Then when we found our JEN in Anne Robichaud Collin, we couldn't not do the show."

JOHN & JEN will be a show you will always remember fondly once you see it. So do not miss it. It runs every Friday and Saturday until May 7th, 2011!
