What exactly is the CT Cabaret Theatre? It is a non-equity professional cabaret theatre that produces Broadway-style musicals and comedies year-round. It being a cabaret theatre means you sit at cozy round tables where you are invited to bring in whatever you like to eat or drink. Hence our motto being “BRING YOUR OWN, WE’LL PROVIDE THE REST”. We do have a small dessert bar that provides a variety of treats and beverages to purchase as well. As for the shows of our new season, they are as follows:

Music and Lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx
Book by Jeff Whitty
MARCH 16th thru APRIL 21st, 2012

We’re kicking off our 15th Anniversary Season with a BANG! Winner of the Tony "Triple Crown" for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book, AVENUE Q is part flesh, part felt and packed with heart. AVENUE Q is a laugh-out-loud musical that tells the timeless story of a recent college grad named Princeton who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. He soon discovers that although the residents seem nice, it's clear that this is not your ordinary neighborhood. Together, Princeton and his new-found friends struggle to find jobs, dates, and their ever-elusive purpose in life. Filled with catchy, over the top “Sesame Street”-styled songs, this hilarious Rated-R show, is one you will love and NEVER forget!

By Robert Harling
APRIL 27th thru JUNE 2nd, 2012

Concerned with a group of gossipy southern ladies in a small-town beauty parlor, the play is alternately hilarious and touching—and, in the end, deeply revealing of the strength and purposefulness which underlies the antic banter of its characters. "Harling has given his women sharp, funny dialogue…The play builds to a conclusion that is deeply moving." —NY Daily News. "…a skillfully crafted, lovingly evoked picture of eccentricity in the small-town South…Robert Harling is a new voice in the theatre and the qualities of STEEL MAGNOLIAS suggest he may be an important one." —Drama-Logue. "…suffused with humor and tinged with tragedy." —NY Post.

JUNE 8th thru JULY 14th, 2012

Paul and Corie Bratter are newlyweds in every sense of the word. He's a straight-as-an-arrow lawyer and she's a free spirit always looking for the latest kick. Their new apartment is her most recent find-too expensive with bad plumbing and in need of a paint job. After a six day honeymoon, they get a surprise visit from Corie's loopy mother and decide to play matchmaker during a dinner with their neighbor-in-the-attic Velasco, where everything that can go wrong, does. Paul just doesn't understand Corie, as she sees it. He's too staid, too boring and she just wants him to be a little morevspontaneous, running "barefoot in the park" would be a start..."A bubbling, rib-tickling comedy."-The New York Times

AUGUST 31st thru OCTOBER 6th, 2012]

One of the great popular successes of recent Broadway history, this ingeniously constructed play offers a rare and skillful blending of two priceless theatrical ingredients—gasp-inducing thrills and spontaneous laughter. Dealing with the devious machinations of a writer of thrillers whose recent offerings have been flops, and who is prepared to go to any lengths to improve his fortunes, it provides twists and turns and sudden shocks in such abundance that audiences will be held spellbound until the very last moment.
